  1. I began employment with Equinox in March of this year, so this is the first I have seen regarding Bruce's problem. I can assure you that you will be very pleased with your housing and that there will not be an issue like the one reflected in Bruce's post. Let me know if you need anything in the future and thank you for choosing Equinox.

I just purchased this housing. I have built several housings for 35 mm cameras. The HD6 housing looks solid enough and should not leak. The only part I am not sure about is the area around the dome port which is sealed at the factory. Something likely to cause a problem is the tangle of wiring for the monitor - a wire could get under the back O ring but should be visible if this happens. I would not put a camera in the water in a new housing without testing the housing first in water without a camera. I have never flooded a camera yet in 400 dives but there is always a first time.

Is there any update on the problem with brucedd's housing?

THe HD6 and monitor back purchased through B&H flooded very first time in any water (in the camera bucket). B&H had me call Equinox (at my expense, no 800 number), who appologised and said they would send a return shipping label so they could analyse the housing failure. I never heard from Equinox again.

ScubaBoard should seriously consider the credibility of the advertisers / sponsors they accept.

I am out $3000 buck in video cam, housing, monitor back, and peripherial accesories due to an Equinox engineering error. The error is forgivable, the failure to make the error right is not.
