    Hi -

I understand on the wife/family :-) I had very few dives my first several years of certification as I could not justify spending a day of vacation underwater away from family. But now Dau and Son are certified. So that makes 3 of 4 :-)

Went to Bonaire in summer '03 for a week. Went with a scout group and had an instructor with us. So we all did lots of specialties (5-7 each). Had a blast, but all diving eating sleeping. We did do the night dive at Town Pier. Was a little crowded, but lots to see. The juxtoposition of pier trash (tires etc) and the cup corals was interesting. Some neat eels and frogfish too.

Since then we have effectively had a dive vacation week/year. Sometimes wife goes and sometimes not. Her choice. Cozumel was this past summer.

Went to Bonaire over Christmas break of '07 for a week with whole family. Spent too much time with doing things that the wife and daughter's (non-divers) activities. Went back the first week of sept '08 with just my two sons and brother and got 26 dives in that week. Folks at work thought it was funny that all we ate was spam and peanut butter and jelly for the entire week, but that left more time for diving. The others were a compromise with the sife. She likes to go on cruises, good food, easy arrangements etc. I hate them. Their all the same, so she can only cruise to places that have diving. The dives in Grenada, Roatan and Aruba were only single two tank dives. Did my OW dives in Cancun and had two days of diving In Bermuda while on a cruise there there this summer, but a tropical storm screwed up the last day there. When were you in Bonaire? Did you dive the town pier there? We did on our final night there was a great way to end a week. My two sons wouldn't do the dive because we were within the 24 hour of a flight rule window. They are high functioning autistics and are very strict about rules and procedures. (makes them great dive buddies) I couldn't convince them it was only 30 feet and that would be like freediving or snorkeling. My brother and I went anyway. It was amazing and got some great pics.

only 50 dives and that list of diving locations...WOW. When we went to Bonaire we clocked 24 dives in the week. Granted we barely had time to eat and sleeping was just an extended surface interval. Mike
