Good for you, even if I am a PADI guy, I am always welcoming qualified professionals to the diving world. Good luck with school too. Lucky me- I am on the other side of the podium, as an adjunct professor of law and ethics at a local college. Remember, divemaster or instructor, you still need a scubasnob shirt!

Congratulations- Now you need a divemaster shirt ( I'm sure SSI has one they will sell you) and a scuba snobs shirt- which you can get at scubasnobs.com!

So Fire, when do we drop the word "candidate" from your title?

I've been looking at lots of things about scuba diving and I found the story of the underwater graveyard and the underwater hotel at Jocassee. You've probably already saw this but I copied the link for a video just in case you hadn't: Debbie Fletcher: "Jocassee Remembered" – News to Me Blog - CNN.com Blogs Hope you like it. I found it heartwarming, heartbreaking, and yet very interesting.

Thank you for all your guidance today! I really enjoyed my first diving lesson and I hope it's something I can start to do on a regular basis. I have lots and lots of research to do to get started but I wanted to thank you for all the pointers you gave today. Talk to you soon. Stay safe

    Hi Fire,
Likewise, let me know if you visit my area. The Savannah river is just next door and makes a nice dive. Sometimes you find old bottles. Nice diving closer to the coast, too, especially if you like to find shark teeth and other fossils.

I really don't think it is sad(ok,maybe it is) but your lungs do start drying out fast! I have not been in the water since Feb. 21st. I have been wanting to go really bad. Something about diving relaxes me. Maybe I just like getting narc'd?

I am coaching Tee ball this year and I have a busy two months ahead so I will not be diving for a while(unless I sneak away for a 1 dive trip on my way home from work.) Plus the wife will not approve of my drysuit, so I will be wet all summer long or until the wetsuit falls apart. So I fell your pain on the no drysuit thing.

It was really cold outside. The high for that day was 40 degrees.

Have you seen the new blue stain on the deck now?

Biography:
I am a Christian and as often as I fall trying to remain true to my faith (by doing things on my own rather than trusting God), it is a worthy endeavor. I am an avid outdoors man. I love to get together with people in person. Do not hesitate to contact me, lets go meet and do something outside.
