I was a Royal Navy mine Clearance Diver for 10 years.
I left the Navy in 1985 and have continued working commercially as a diver ever since.
I have alway been paid to dive. I have never done anything else, until that is I started writing about it!

Dive History:
I have been paid to dive since I was 17, (I am now 49, just!) An enviable position to many I’m sure.
I have been diving all over the world, well almost! From the South Pacific, to the war torn Falkland Islands during the conflict in 1982. Searching for mines down there or quickly evolving our EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) skills, repairing bomb damaged ships during air raids, all set me up for a career that never had a dull moment.
When I left the Navy I went on to become a Saturation Diver in the oil fields of the North Sea and around the world diving at depths to well over 700 feet for a month at a time.
