    HI,
I saw your post about FP. Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions please?
Is it worth the effort and expense to dive in FP?
Is it possible to stay and eat on a budget there or is everything really expensive?
Many thanks if you can help,
    Cheers,
    Tim
  2. your class schedule works great. you could take the 4pm ferry on fridays (1 hour, $22) and spend the weekends on utila, then take the monday morning 6.20am ferry back to la ceiba.
pretty much all the dive operations on the utila are good, very inexpensive and most offer descent budget ($3-20) lodging if you're taking a course.
my personal favorites in utila town are deep blue divers, u.d.c., underwater visions and altons.
utila is a lot of fun, diving all day and (most people) partying all night.
as far as gear goes, i'd wait until you fall in love with diving before you buy anything other than a mask and fins. once you're sure, then its well worth the expense. my bcd is 15 yrs old and still going strong!!

Hey Laurenceh, i will be in Honduras (la Ceiba), for 2+ months, would love to get over to Utila to do my training. ANy help/ suggestions would be appreciated. I will be taking classes in La Ceiba monday-friday half day, then trying to do my training in the evenings/ weekends if possible. Currently i am doing my E Learning with PADI. Also, just doing some research on gear to purchase before i come. Thanks!
