I was just wondering if you had an opinion on this: My job is sending me on a trip to Alabama, so I'll be about the same driving distance to Venice or Charleston. I'm thinking of a weekend dive in the Cooper River or Venice. I've done Venice for several years, and have had luck with Florida West (now Megalodon Charters, same boat, different Capt. Steve), but have been curious about diving the Cooper. How lucky do you need to be to find something in the Cooper? Do you have any recommendations? I appreciate your time and any opinion you could give. Thanks!
  3. Really thrilled with my latest fossil find. It is a Gomphothore or Mastadon tooth. Found in the Edisto river, Charleston SC

  6. I am talking with a scuba friend of mine that I have been underwater fossil hunting with for many years. He has been doing river charters for at least a dozen years. We are talking about doing some exploratory diving in the Edisto river and/or the Wando river. We will be diving virgin sites and there is a potential for large fossil hauls of all kinds of variety. Viz 3 feet to 8 feet depending on conditions. Depth 15 to 30 feet. These dives will not be for total stranger typical charter business. These dives are by invitation to known, experienced, underwater fossil hunters. Targeting June and July. Let me know.
  7. Made my trip to Venice for shark tooth hunting. I will post a report and photos as soon a things get cleaned up.

Met with old friend Debra an enjoyed looking at her ENORMOUS collection.

About Lee Taylor
Biography:
Master Scuba Diver / Fossil Hunter / Product Designer / Inventor with patents

Started my diving escapades, in 1996, offshore North Carolina, in the Graveyard of the Atlantic. I dove the U-352 German submarine and many more casualties of war and storm.

I then drifted south and started diving a nitrox mix on the offshore South Carolina Civil War shipwrecks.

I blended in some offshore southern Florida drift diving, some Venice FL shark tooth diving, and some Florida Keys reef diving.

Ten years ago I became addicted to fossil diving in Charleston SC. I dive the Cooper, Edisto, and Wando rivers.

For blue water I dive Charleston, Murrells Inlet, Wilmington, Boynton Beach, Key Largo, and Venice FL
