Hi Nemrod, following on from a post you put up on a thread about carry on luggage. I see you have a Fix S90 (Or S95?) housing, i have the same setup, but have found i've had issues with the terribly designed and expensive addon to attach wet lenses. I actually lost my Inon 165 fisheye on the Barrier reef (only to be found by someone the next day! Phew!) as it fell off. Have you had any similar issues? or any advice on how to avoid the same happening again?
    cheers
    Phil

    Nemrod,

You said that you would prefer a dry fit system like the Fix G12. Is the image quality of a dry system like the Fix G12 with dome significantly better than the wet Fix S95 & Fix UWL-04 lens system?

Theoretically a dry system should produce higher image quality because there is no layer of water between the housing and the accessory lens, but is it a significant difference?

The reason why I ask is because I want to buy the Canon S95 with Fix S95 housing & Fisheye UWL-04 lens, but are hesitant because the Canon S100 is on the market. You stated that the Canon S100 is not a good option because of it's 5X zoom and 24mm focus length. I suppose one way to overcome this problem is to create a 24mm compatible fisheye lens and add it to a dry system like the Fix G12, which also has a 5X zoom.

Is it worthwhile to wait for the industry to manufacture such a system because it theoretically should produce higher image quality or should I just buy the Canon S95?

    Thank you

    Hermie

    Hi Nemrod

I saw a post where you recommended pure silicone grease for an M67 lens. Is the silicone pump spray too runny/liquidy to work properly? Or should I buy a little pat of the thicker grease?

You're a great resource on SB. Thanks!

    Nemrod,

Do you have a link to your old posts about backpack and back plates? I remember you having a travel soft back pack that you really liked. I am looking for something to use with my double hosers. I cant for the life of me find all those threads,

    Thanks,
    Jason
