I started diving back in '91 when I was 12ish, laid low a few years and have become hooked once again.... especially since I discovered spearfishing. FYI I only shoot what I eat and thats all I allow on my boats.
When I have the time and the weather cooperates I like to dive deep off the Florida panhandle for lobsters and large groupers and snapper. An average dive will involve wrestling a fish over 30#s at 145fsw 45 miles offshore.
Certification History:
I hope you understand the level of frustration I have for people who collect badges but don't have clue #1 about how to dive, this includes DMs and all sorts of instructors that I see on my boat every day. This practice is unethical and dangerous, and I see the end result of it since it is my DM that has to hold their hand and teach them how to dive. I just want people to have a good time safely, selling someone a patch doesn't usually figure into that.
