Well, I lost my Inon 165AD also and it sat in the Atlantic for three days before being found and returned to me. The heavy seas had the boat come up as I went down hitting the lens and knocking it off. No, none of the adapters are super secure, you should tether the lens using nylon cord or bungee and a nylon tie strap if possible.

The adapter you mention, I have not had any real issues with it but right now I am using the 67mm Dyron adapter instead of the 67mm FIX adapter (I assume you have) both with a 10Bar (or my DIY version) AD to 67mm adapter together.

BTW, if I had hit any dome port or Nikonos lens I have ever had as hard as my Inon was hit on my FIX90 housing, something would have broken so I am not really going to cry to much over the various adapters, they work as well or better than other equipment I have owned previously.

    James
