  1. Second part.....it was too long lol

I think the Iron Steamer (the SS Pevensey) and the adjacent pier remains would be nice to check out too. But before I take that on I need to work on some LO-VIS, and Current skills. There will also be a big hazard with all the monofiliment in the area. I am planning to hold off on that excursion a good while. I'm still new and my eyes are bigger than my stomach so to say.

I had better get to hoppin here. Gettin a lil late and I have an internet date with wifey. You take care. I apprecate the input. It still sounds like a good time. My email is Outlaw_diver@yahoo.com

    Cheers
    Brian
  2. Thanks Gabe, I hope I can get a chance to get wet. It is looking like its gonna be tighter that I expected. Got some sick relatives I have to visit. Its looks like they wont be here when I finish the tour in Aug, and I will not put a loved one on the back burner.

One place I would love to play around in is a marina area (permission would be tough) or a popular swimming area. I love finding stuff even if its mostly useless. I played around in the surf at Atlantic Beach last year. Just past the breakers. Found some bolts, iron rings like off a pad-eye, and iron plating, and fossil whale rib sections. It was stirred up while dredging to build up the shore. My brother found a meg tooth. That was the only time i did saltwater, and it cost me my new knife, and compass out of my console. The sand also gummed up my reg too.

    Brian,
The water in Belews is probably a good bit colder now. There have been cold nights for the past couple weeks. I would guess its down around 55. Even if it is in the low 50s, your 7mm suit with a hood should suffice for a short dive or two. Just have some dry clothes and a towel readily available. Down to 42ft their really was no thermocline. We entered at the Pine Hall Access

and paddled in a canoe to a small island about 300 meters from the boat ramp. We then entered from the island shore. There may be a good amount of boat traffic so be sure to have a surface marker.
If you want to give me an e-mail address, I can try to get you in touch with my buddy who I did the Belews dive with. He's in NC and would probably like to dive with you while you're home. Safe Travels.

    Gabe
