In my experience, divers who run out of air are either: a) distracted, b) inactive divers who are inattentive to their gauges, or c) are oblivious to...

I was first certified in 1971 at age 14. We didn't have SPGs or real BCDs then, and an alternate air source wasn't even a dream... I started diving in Monterery,CA; dove San Diego, CA and the Channel Islands, CA while in college; on to the North Coast, CA; Hawaii, CanCun, & Cozemel with my husband. He took me to CanCun for our honeymoon and I told him we were going diving. He loved it and got full certification. Guess where I like to dive the most. Was using a dry suit in CA, but I have to wear too much weight. We decided it was time for our two teenage sons to get certified, so we can go as a family. I've gone years between dives, but you wouldn't know it by how comfortable I am. Recently my BSA Venture Crew (I'm the Advisor) decided to start scuba, so I just completed retaking my Rescue diver and took Divemaster to support them. Until now I was using my first regulator - a ScubaPro Mark VII - love it and have never had a problem with it.
