I managed to convert a permanent layoff to an early retirement, then moved to Michigan, where I live on the shores of Lake Huron. You'd think I'd try diving here, since there are tons of wrecks and an underwater preserve just out front... maybe next year. What I really like about diving is seeing the riotous colors and incredible life forms in the water. That, and combining it with a vacation in a warm climate. But I'm a northern girl at heart so I have no plans to run away to the tropics and dive all the time.
