I live in the Island State of Australia Tasmania, this is a temperate diving Paradise, I am based in Hobart the capital city of Tasmania.
Tasmanian is renowned for it's relative isolation, wild wilderness and stunning coast line. The diving around Tasmania is fantastic with many accessible peninsulars and islands creating many dive locations with spectacular underwater scenery and a wide diversity of marine life.
Location:
Tasmania, Australia
Interests:
I have little time out side diving but I do enjoy fishing, bushwalking and mountain bike riding when I get the time.
Occupation:
Natural Resource Managment
Gender:
Male
Certification Agencies:
PADI, SSI, TDI
Dive History:
I enjoy deep temperate water diving, and primarily dive around my Island home of Tasmania. I enjoy under water photography and have a Nikon Coolpix 8400 housed in a Ikelite housing with a Ikelite DS125 strobe.
I have completed a SSI decompression course to allow me to spend more time at depth in the 30-50 meter range exploring deep reefs and local wrecks. There is much to explore around Tasmania especially the deeper reefs that are largely unexplored.
I dive with a Dive Rite Transpac, utilising both single and double manifold tanks. I love the trans pack for its ability to quick change between single and twin tanks and find it very comfortable. I use Apex DS4 first stage regulators and ATX 40 second stages with a 5' hose. I find the Apex regs fantastic to breath from I like them for their simplicity and stylish looks. The house routing is perfect using these regs for doubles.
I use a Delta P Vr2 to track dive time depth and decompression status. I find this a fantastic computer for both decompression and non decompression dives.
I use a Northern Diver CNX dry suit for the cool water diving I love. I find this suit very comfortable but am a little disappointed in it's wearing ability ie not as durable as ND claim.
I use a 40cf aluminium Catalina as a sling tank usually with 50 or 100% 02 for accelerated decompression
