  1. Thanks for your message. Regarding your questions, I taught commercial diving on a part-time basis for Seneca College under Bob Landry (the School's Director at that time) in King City during the mid 70's. At the time, I was with the Navy and stationed at DCIEM in Toronto (the Diving Officer). Bob started-up the dive program in 1975 (I think, the years are blurring :-) and asked for some help.

My commercial school wasn't opened until 1985. The company was called Innerspace Diving Services Inc. and ran out of Abbotsford, B.C. The practical training was done at Vancouver Divers (my commercial operation).

As far as a harness is concerned, Miller's the big name with their North Sea line the most favored. Atlantic and Sea Lion are a couple of alternatives, but I'd stick with the Miller. As far as availability and purchase, I'd contact one of the schools as I'm not up on which businesses are still active in Ontario. Sorry I can't help more...

I did my commercial training with the CWDI in Buckhorn Ontario, what was the name of your school?

Maybe you can help me, where could I find a weight belt harness for working? or are they all made by Miller?

    cheers

  3. Welcome to the user group! Where did you do your commercial training? I owned Vancouver Divers a few year back (a commercial operator in the mid 80's and operated a commercial school there. Take care.
