    Biography
First started diving in Nova Scotia with my dad, using some pretty old gear, horse style BCD the one that sits on the divers chest and pieced together wetsuits from what ever we could find, mostly from yard sales and my dads old diving friends. At 12 did the PADI Junior Open Water Diver and hated every moment of it.

For 5 years did a lot of local Halifax area diving then moved to Vancouver, recertified and have been diving as much as possible for the last two years, still trying to finish my Dive Master before 2009 and am now back from my Commercial Diver training which completely changed my views on scuba diving and just underwater work in general.

Hopefully sometime soon IÃÍl be able to start rebuilding my double hose regulator and finish it before next summer, something old to try out at Porteau Cove.

Thanks for your message. Regarding your questions, I taught commercial diving on a part-time basis for Seneca College under Bob Landry (the School's Director at that time) in King City during the mid 70's. At the time, I was with the Navy and stationed at DCIEM in Toronto (the Diving Officer). Bob started-up the dive program in 1975 (I think, the years are blurring :-) and asked for some help.

My commercial school wasn't opened until 1985. The company was called Innerspace Diving Services Inc. and ran out of Abbotsford, B.C. The practical training was done at Vancouver Divers (my commercial operation).

As far as a harness is concerned, Miller's the big name with their North Sea line the most favored. Atlantic and Sea Lion are a couple of alternatives, but I'd stick with the Miller. As far as availability and purchase, I'd contact one of the schools as I'm not up on which businesses are still active in Ontario. Sorry I can't help more...

Welcome to the user group! Where did you do your commercial training? I owned Vancouver Divers a few year back (a commercial operator in the mid 80's and operated a commercial school there. Take care.
