  1. Hi, Sorry I've been away. Do you have a "hub" or do you have the Vector 1000 air trim? These are two different bcds. The Hub has all hoses from regulator running through the bcd to a manifold inside and then routed out. the Vector is a traditional bcd with our airtrim system. If it's a vector not a "hub", then this could be a simple fix. The airtrim mechanism is quite simple and could be allowing a little air to pass from the LP hose into the bcd. This could be caused by a few things, which I can't diagnose from the internet. It should be taken to a dealer that has been properly trained to repair our equipement. They should quickly be able to determine the issue and solve the problem, or at least give you a quote on what a repair might cost.

    Good luck,

    Zak
  2. Hi Zak, I'm new to diving, still working on my ocean diver training and I recently bought some 2nd hand kit, all Mares. I've had the regs serviced and all is good there but the Airtrim Vector 1000 isn't. i was advised the kit had only been used about 50 times in warm water by a part time dive instructor - it does look in good condition and I've received all the user manuals, but hasn't been used for about a year. The problem is the 'hub' doesn't seem to deflate, some air (intermittantly) seeps from the hub itself.
My local dive shop says get rid, they're rubbish, but I like the positioning of the button so am keen to use it and make my own mind up. So, any advice on how best to tackle this and whether it's likely to be an expensive fix?

    Thanks in advance

ps despite being in the UK you seem to be the only Mares rep that chats and I've struggled to find a Mares contact on the website - so hope you can help.
