While in PDC it is worth the time to check out the Mega at Consituentes and 25th. For a comparison, stop by the San Fransisco (next door). Up to 2004 the SS was the major grocery store in PDC. Besides, right across the street from the Mega you have HC Monterrey and El Fogon. My two favorite places to eat in PDC.
For those about to travel to PDC, book a room for one night and walk the town to see what kind of deals you can get for the rest of your stay. Right now the small places are really hurting and it is not uncommon to get 30-40% off last year's rates.

Thanks for that link!! So this may be an odd question, but I need to completely get away from it all for 3 days (MAX) and eat good food, hang out on a GREAT beach, and just be pampered. I live in Playa (no jokes... I actually work for a living... hehe). Anyone have any recommendations?? Any one know of hotels with locals discounts??

El Foggon it is. And yes...people should book one night and look at other hotels or call the ones they really want to stay at and say "what is your bottom line last minute special?" Likely 30-50% off.

El Fogon is good, but HC Monterrey is right next door. What the hell, just eat at both of them and see which one you think is the best. Either way you will eat very well for a lot less than on 5th.

On my too do list!! I noticed it the other day...look forward to it!

If you still have the time in PDC and are looking for just a quick snack, Pizza Pazza and El Oasis shrimp tacos are also great cheap eats. Pizza Pazza is one block south of Constituyentes on 5th (several locations though) and El Oasis in between 5 Ave and 10 on Calle 12 (may be 10 or 14).

Ate at Pizza Pazza yesterday. Also, had chocolate muose from those Chocolate cafes around town. It was so rich, I saved the rest and had it tonight. Man o' Man.
Ate the steak nationales at a small little place near my hotel. Didn't have the energy to walk to the other place. Steak is marinated somehow. Very delicioso!!.
I am getting fatter every day. Need to stop. Becoming Gordita!!!

When you get back to Cozumel do 4 dives a day and you just might go from gordita to flaca.
