OK, everyone, drop whatever other dive plans you had and head to Cabo Pulmo!
My husband and I just got back from a week diving there and we had a blast. We stayed at Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort in one of the small bungalows and did our diving with the dive shop there. Everyone, from Getse at reception to Rick and the kids at the dive shop, was very friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay and diving experience very positive.
This is not really a "resort" in the usual sense. There were no mariachi bands, fancy clothes etc. Rather, it is an off-the-grid solar village of houses and bungalows with sandy paths between. Very quiet and peaceful. No worries about locked doors etc. The only intruder we had was when I forgot to close the sliding screen and found one the the friendly village dogs in the room, checkin' us out.
The fish are HUGE and plentiful...on one dive we saw the sea darken and we realized that we were witnessing a tornado of thousands upon thousands of jacks. With a couple of mammoth Goliath Groupers thrown in. Amazing. We regularly saw giant schools of pompanos, yellow tail tangs, grunts....plus ginormous parrot fish, angel fish, moorish idols...it was breathtaking.
So if you want a very mellow, low-key place to go for great diving, hop on a plane to Cabo Pulmo. You will love it!

Glad to hear you had such a great time :D We sent some divers up there the other day and the visibility was around 90ft and they were thrilled with the amount of sealife they saw

Happy Diving
