I've been planning a trip to PV in October, and there are so many Hotels it is hard to choose. I'd like to stay away from All Inclusive. I was just wondering if anyone out there has a motel or/ and restaurant they really enjoyed there so I can add it to my "list". Thanx

We like the Westin, great pools, great arcitecture, palm trees everywhere. We''l be back many times, but we are timeshare owners there and other Westin resorts all over coastal Mexico.

Have a good trip, PV is cool, ocean, mountains and Jungle, lot's to do and see.

Hello.
the hotels at marina vallarta are very quiet and near from the dive dock. I agree that westin regina is really nice option. i have also stayed at velas apartments, and flamingos and they´re nice.
Here you can find different hotels at the marina, and other sites in Vallarta.

For a good meal try "el brujo" it´s downtown, just outside "tunel del libramiento". and for a good view of the bay try "las carmelitas". good luck.

I love PV. But I make it a point to stay south of the river. It's much less touristy and more Mexican. It's also the oldest part of PV. The marina and nuevo area are all gringo high rise hotels. I avoid the overtly touristy areas when I travel.

I love the Hotel Suites Emperador. It is a beautiful hotel on the beach owned and run by well educated and polite Mexicans. The rates are very reasonable and the rooms include a private balcony overlooking the beach and Banderas Bay.

Check out their site for yourself.
