Rawlings 24 or 25 Feb

Everyone,
I figured it would be a good idea to move the discussion for this coming weekend over from last weekend's thread for clarity. I am certainly in for Rawlings this weekend. I'd like to meet up Saturday morning, the 24th, at Rawlings at 9 am. Can do Sunday also if we don't have enough for Sat. There has been some interest, who's in?

I spoke too soon on the other thread. I'm locked into work. On the Rawlings site, I note that the quarry is in off season, and closed. Special arrangements have to be made to get in to use the lake and you have to be a dive shop or instructor. Do you know if any other group is going? The Lake will open on weekends in March, which will make the logistics of getting in a lot easier.

I know of no other groups, but there were about a dozen folks from various groups there two weeks ago last time I went, and it was much colder. I would ask an instructor at my lds to see make a call to open the facility if it wasn't going to be open already. You need 4, or to pay for 4 if you have three, regardless. I will do the legwork and make the calls, all I need is for folks to agree to show. Hopefully folks will answer up soon so I can make arrangements by the end of the day.

Agreed. This summer, I'll be happy to make the drive over for a weekend dive or two.

Yes, I'm a warm water wimp and the older I get, the worse it gets.

Looks like a no-go

All,
I talked to the folks at the lake this afternoon. There was a group scheduled to go and the lake was going to be open tomorrow, but that group cancelled and the lake will be closed. Oh well, maybe sometime in the near future.

If you are interested the Richmond Dive Club dives Rawlings a lot. Here is a link to our scheduled dates. http://www.richmonddiveclub.com/inde...content=travel
The cool thing is a single membership is $24 and a family membership is $36 for family members. We cover the entrance cost to the quarry on all our scheduled Lake Rawllings days and also provide a warm meal at the quarry. Here is the link to our website http://richmonddiveclub.com
If you are interested, feel free to come to a club meeting. It is an awesome deal! Look forward to diving with you at Rawlings.

Rawlings Tomorrow 17 March

Jim,
Thanks for the invite. It sounds like you guys do a lot of great things from reading your posts. But I am a bit far here in VA Beach to make any sort of regular meetings in Richmond. Still, I will be at Rawlings tomorrow at around 1030 with a group from Lynnhaven Dive Center and would like to say Hi. I'll be driving a red Prius, and am diving a black and blue semi-dry suit. Hope to see you there.
