Everyone:

This is from the Atlanticdiver group on yahoo, forwarded to me by my buddy:

"Dear Dive Friends,

Sometimes it is difficult to know exactly how to begin when revealing a
significant change; but change will happen no matter how we word it. It will
indeed be a new year for the crew of the Surface Interval - a year without a
boat. After 15 wonderful seasons, we have sold the Surface Interval. We are
not giving up diving, rather we will enjoy diving along side you instead of
serving you as crew.

It has been our absolute pleasure to serve the local dive community and we
have met and made so very many good friends over the years. The old maxim is
that "parting is such sweet sorrow." The sorrow - the goodbyes, of course.
The sweet part is having the freedom to travel when and where we want.
Selling the boat gives us the opportunity to travel more and explore other
places, something we were seldom able to do easily while we juggled our
charter schedule and winter prep time.

Surface Interval has returned to her roots in Louisiana, where she was
built. Crew boats are in short supply after Hurricane Katrina and we
received an unprecedented number of inquiries from that area. It was a
nostalgic moment as we watched her "wide load" roll down the road today in
the knowledge that we'll never see her again. Memories abound of lobsters
caught, fish speared, treasures found, notable encounters with nature in and
on the water, and countless days of joy, laughter and great diving with
friends. If you want a photo retrospective, check out our photo gallery
while you still can at www.surfaceinterval.net

We have a remainder stock of Surface Interval apparel (T-shirts, tank tops,
sweat shirts, sweat pants, and hats) in sizes from small to double-X. We
will sell them until they run out, first come first served. Contact Trish if
you're interested.

We extend a sincere thank you to all the dive shops and many individuals who
have supported us over the years. We will miss the weekly interaction, but
look forward to continued diving with you in new and different locations.

With best wishes for a wonderful new year,
The crew of the Surface Interval

....That sucks, I liked that boat.

Ouch. I just saw this posted on DC Scuba. This is a big loss to those of us who like the cool murky green ocean off Delaware.

We'll have to find a new boat. With the Fiesta out of business as well, is anyone still diving out of Indian River???
