Has anyone been into the Conowingo resevoir? I understand theres buildings and such from when they flooded the area to build the dam. Just not sure if its legal to dive there. Dont even know who to find our from.

Yes I've dove the Conowingo Resevoir. For the most part you'll find 40 foot walls on the banks, with few if any shore entries. The bottom has some 70+ years of silt, mud and stone deposited in it, giving for the most part a rather flat silty bottom of 40 feet in most places. You must stay well north of the dam as the area is a security restricted zone. There is little current, however you may find a lot of debris in the water. Visibility is usually in the 2-3 foot range sometimed at zero after recent heavy rains north of Maryland. There are no buildings left in the lake any longer. Anything that wasn't destroyed/demolished or moved in 1928 before the pond filled is now buried under some 70 years of accumulated silt and mud.
