You're right, it is mating season.... Just try not to look so darn hot... I mean, when you go out looking like you want a good time, what's a poor gator to do? I think you know you were asking for it....

:11: Something tells me the neoprene is going to chafe the gator (so that is what the kids are calling it these days) if he trys anything unexpectedly...

Hey! Everybody has their own thing. But really, "Chafe the gator"..... Now THAT'S a new code term to start using.. I like it! Think of the many ways you can use that one. Hey thanks! I have to figure out how to use it at breakfast now....:14:

About the depth...I've never seen one deeper than 14 ffw feet, Not sure if they do or even can go deeper. Most of our diving is in the cooper, 25-40 ffw, and I have never seen one that deep.
An experiment to lure them down to see where they stop may work as long as I am not the bait.

The unexpected run-ins is all of the experimentation I think I'll be doing! Up until last year when we had the guy get his arm ripped off, I didn't really think that much about it.

If you decide not to dive with them anymore, Steve and I will be over here having cocktails. We'll save you a seat!

The victim in this instance, which took place Sept of 2007, was swimming on the surface in a shallow area. He swam at this lake severla times a week for exercise. According to his son, quoted in the Florida Times Union last year, the victim checked for gators, swam a bit, stood up and checked for gators again, then got hit.
