Mini TR: It's Official - Certified by B&B Scuba in Maui!

Got the temporary PADI card, I never realized it would grant me the same access I thought only reserved for the rich and famous...life is good.

Have to give a SERIOUS thank you to the crew at B&B Scuba. They were a blast to hang out with and made the diving fun and educational. Thanks B&B!

Background: My wife and I did our referral dives with sfscubaschools.com and completed our four OW dives with B&B. Our friends did their entire certification with B&B in Maui.

    **** Day 1 Dives ****
Molokini (Butterfly): We hooked up with the mooring at Butterfly just inside of the Molokini crater. Brad was awesome with the first timers and was great with my wife and I as well. The four of us getting cert'd were together...we mostly played but knocked out some skills along the way. Not much to see inside the crater on this dive, but still so fun being under water.

Puu Olai: Headed to Puu Olai next, on the southern tip of Maui for a drift dive. Saw lots of turtles and knocked out a lot more skills on the bottom. This was our first drift dive...nice relaxing way to see the underwater world.

    Tight Formation...

    Turtle checking us out...

    Skills on the bottom:

    What is this? Wisconsin?

    **** Day 2 Dives ****
Molokini (Butterfly - Drifting Around to the Back): We headed back to the Butterfly site on the second day, but we prodeeded to drift around the end of the crater to the backside. So much cooler than the inside.

B&B is first in the water, at Molokini as the sun rises...ouch!

    Some backside corals...

Brad making sure we are all still there...

The backside of Molokini where we surfaced...

Puu Olai: Headed back to Puu Olai since it was so good the day before. My buddy and I are so bad with air consumption that we were seperated. :shakehead Our DM Steve took care of our remaining skills in the 30mins we were under. The girls got 50mins on the same tanks and got to see a lot more of the dive.

    Wialea Emerald course...

Southern tip of Puu Olai dive...

    Final skill...diver tow...

If you are still there, Black rock is a good shore dive. One of the best snorkels I had (wish I could have dove it) was fish bowl. If no one will tell you were it is, contact Ann Fielding. She was a wonderful guide to the area. She is a ex marine biology instructor.

    Wish I was there...

Nice! Hope we didn't bog it down too much. A couple instructors (one from B&B one from Lahaina Dive) took us on shore dives at Makena landing on Wednesday...way above the call of duty...they were awesome. TR to come...
