Spit is not only a defog, it's a mask scrub that you use to clean a new mask. Also, essentially tooth paste is almost free. The amount needed to clean a new mask is only a few days worth.

If you brush your teeth with it first and then spit it out in the mask, it is free. But it might take a couple days to get it sparkling clean.
