Well, I'll throw another one in for you if you're considering the spring trips, but the shop (Diver's Supply) is located in Jacksonville, FL. They've got a great group of instructors there that I'm sure would be happy to help get you certified. Shoot me an email if you decide on that and need help hooking up with one of their instructors. I just finished my OW course last month and had a newly certified instructor that is eager to certify others to join him. The shop takes overnight trips to a couple of the springs which are about 2-hrs away from Jax, but you could easily set yourself up to stay near the springs and just meet up with them for their group trip.

Here's the spots they frequent for checkout dives and I think the environment is excellent:

The official page of Ginnie Springs Outdoors, in High Springs Florida. Visit our online shop for great deals on dive gear and accessories.

Dayo Scuba - Orlando Florida - Open Water, Cavern, Cave and Technical Scuba Training and Diving - Main Page

This is a training company of four instructors. They train all over Florida. They operate out of a training facility in Winter Park (Orlando). There is always somebody available that can work to your schedule. Being in Central Florida, the choice of ocean or freshwater is possible.

These are the best I've met. (In 31 years as a diver). Tell them Stu sent you.
