pain in the achilles tendon? from wrong thrusts?

well, currently its been almost a month , since last time i dived, my 1st dive and last :P was 1 week old, was having 2 dives each day "was getting both OW and AOW"

anyways, after i got back to my country, it appeared that i had sever pain in the achilles tendon

http://www.pyroenergen.com/articles/...on_rupture.jpg

when i move my foot in the air as if im flipping. it hurts , not as it did before. but really hurts.

what are the causes of that pain, fins? wrong movements? please do tell.
and what about how to make it better? except for not diving :P
any treatement?

thanx

Your question has not been jumped on by some of the doctors on line, just contact the Divers Accident Network where you can get medical consultation for diving injuries. You can go online or call them at 919-684-4326. Also, ask for information to join us to support this service.

Pain in tendon

Greetings MeanGuy and I would take this very serious and get it checked out ASAP.
It could be possible to have torn or pulled even slightly to cause pain to continue.
I would contact DAN, "Divers Alert Network" and do what they recommend.
My guess would be schedule an appointment with your doctor for a check up.
I have had strains and stretches before but always clear up in a few days with little hinderance to normal activity. A few ibuprofens till you can get to the doctor for the check out and be careful to not damage it further.
I am not a doctor but that is what I would do. Be safe and seek professional care.
CamG Keep diving....keep training....keep learning!

Of course, you should seek medical attention and not rely on medical advice from a message board...
But I just dealt with something similar after switching to new stiffer fins and playing some hi-level games of underwater hockey, then running a couple times on it even after it was hurting a little. It would hurt at first, then warm into it with exercise. What I had was Achille's tendonitis, and rest, ice, and ibuprofen were the appropriate treatments. Took a couple weeks off from running and fins (still swam w.o. fins, and biked), and started back in carefully with good warm up and stretching. All better now.

NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, just sharing my experience.

Your post is very confusing. What is "1 week old"? My interpretation of the rest of this paragraph is that you were signed up for a scuba training package including OW and AOW. The class schedule was to include 2 dives a day. You sustained your injury during OW Dive #1. The rest of the injury timeline is unclear.

By "flipping" do you mean finning (as in making a fin kick motion with your leg/foot)?

Please see a doctor for the answer to these questions. Your issue is likely musculoskeletal in nature, but it could be something else. Until your doctor appointment, I would suggest limiting use of the affected limb. For pain management, take ibuprofen or some other over-the-counter anti-inflammatory med.

woooooooooooooooooooooooooow, this looks like some serious ****.
lol, 1st let me explain to Bubbletrubble what i meant sorry if things werent clear, english isn't my native language

when i said my dive experience was one week old, i meant i took both OW and AOW in one week, they were 2 dives a day, and on the last day they were 3 dives "including the night dive"

i can't say its an injury, i felt it when i went back home and rested my feet , like after playing a big game and then resting, u'd feel pain in all your body.

when i meant the flipping, i didn't know the correct word
the picture explains everything
http://www.eorthopod.com/images/Cont...my_bones03.jpg

at 1st when i came back, it would hurt as soon as i walk, or just flex or extend it. yes it was so painful and i did go to a doctor , he's like "take pain killers and rest u've just had too much workout"

ofcourse i dont like taking pain killers , but the pain is almost gone now, warm water , rest and stretches just like islandah mentioned. since its logic, my guess is that they weren't used to alot of physical activity , i mean a whole week of diving was too much for my feet i guess. specially i had to swim on the surface a lot too and keep up with other divers on the surface as well .

thank you all for your concern but i was more looking for shared experienced / thoughts , rather than medical treatment "no offence but no one takes medical treatment from message boards " but its like when you're doing the wrong workout and other fellow experienced traineers would say "hey dude, you're doing this the wrong way" if i get the same response from 5 people , it means hell yeah, i've been doing this the wrong way .

i was concerened about why does this pain accur in this area , could be wrong legs / feet movements while thrusting? could be fin quality they were almost as the same as the ones in this picture.
http://www.bunnsdivers.com/dat/11522...stableFins.jpg

some people say its because i pulled the straps too tight.

dont worry fans i walk and run just fine "bows to the crowd" . no seriously im fine , sure its slowly and slowly healing but i dont want it to ever happen again if possible, thats why im trying to know why i get the pain.

i can say that my condition is almost like islandah , but like i said, for those people who had it, why did it happen? "fast thrusting? , swimming at top speed?, fins are too stiff and needed force?,wrong way to swim?, straps were too tight?, shoes were too small? lack of stamina?" those kinda things

thank you for reading
