I guess the advice you gave me was spot on. My weight belt had one weight on my left hip and the other weight between my spine and my right hip. I fastened my BCD more snug and my tank stayed in place. What a world of difference to not exert so much energy trying to not rotate.
As for the kneeling, my instructor said he uses kneeling so that he can get everyone to plant themselves and be able to watch him.
Wow! I can get my students to do the same while hovering in front of me in a fin pivot or just hanging. And they see everything while working on their buoyancy and trim. I don't want them planted anywhere.
