Question Fins For A Narrow Men's Foot

    Hi,

I wear a size 11.5 men's sneaker but have a very, very narrow foot. I have been trying to find a pair of open heel fins that would fit. I've seen mention of Cressi fins as being narrow, but really wanted a split fin (something like the Oceanic V16). Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to fit a fin with a narrow foot? I think boots would help, but the issue with boots is that they are also wide on my foot. My initial thought is to by a scubsock and then possibly place an insole into a boot. I tried a variety of boots at my local dive shop and they were all much wider than my foot. Has anyone had a similar issue? If so, are there any recommendations on how to solve my issue? I also debated trying to customize a fin by gluing additional rubber inside the fin to make them more narrow; just not sure if that's the best route. Thanks in advance for your help!

Get a pair of the old converse sneakers. They will fill the pocket of most fins. I know they work well with ScubaPro Jet Fins. You mabey able to try the twin jets if you want split fins. I have used mares raptor fin, they are split and have a small pocket in my opinion.
Courses make divers. Tough realistic training makes good divers.

If your foot is so unusual, how do you find street shoes that work? Anyway, if you want to wear a dive boot, it would not be too much trouble to find some old thick wetsuit material and use wetsuit glue to glue some material to the sides of the boot, I suppose. It will compress at depth, but not completely.

You can also wear thick wool socks under a neoprene dive boot or even a 3mm neoprene sock under a boot.

Finding street shoes that work is no easy task. I typically get New Balance in a narrow size. The laces also help to customize the tightness. Thanks for the suggestions...I will look into converse shoes and a neoprene sock.

There are fin inserts available that are rubber. The scubapro twin jet has a soft foot pocket that forms pretty well to someone foot. As for a boot it might be hard. I have sold open heel fins to people that refuse to wear boots. Its comfortable with the twin jets being soft. They would wear just a neoprene sock and go down a size in the fins or maybe two depending on the foot. You can message me if you need help finding the inserts to try I have a pair available that is not listed on my website were you can find twin jets and socks.
