Any idea where I can find the regulations on NH residents taking lobster with scuba?

    Might be here...

You can download the saltwater fishing regs here: http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/fishing.htm

How long is NH's shoreline anyway? Last time I was up there it didn't take very long to drive the entire length.

    You can't.

It came back into the legislature a year or so ago, but was already shot down before I heard about it and could sit down and shoot down their stupid points one by one.

The major reason it was rejected was because of concerns over the habitat... that the lobsters homes would be destroyed by divers moving boulders to get at the bugs.

The concept is completely bogus, and I submit that the dragging of traps along the sea floor by currents /waves /hauling does more damage then a diver could ever do.

    Lobster Rules

I found this in the link provided. Am I reading this wrong. It seems the taking of lobster is permitted when the following is followed:

[b]211:23 Who May Take Lobsters and Crabs. – No person shall take lobsters or crabs from the waters of New Hampshire unless he is a bona fide resident of the state; and no license shall be issued to a person unless he shall furnish proof that he has resided within the state for at least 5 years immediately preceding his application for a license and has not during that time claimed a residence in any other state for any purpose. No person shall wilfully make a false statement in applying for a license.

    Lobster rules

    Read the very next rule:

211:23-a Prohibited Methods of Taking. – No person shall at any time take from any waters under the jurisdiction of this state any lobsters by diving, spearing or dipping.

    Petition for diving for lobster

There is a congressman lobbying for an amendment to permit divers from taking lobsters. I can't remember his name. I do have the petition with the address to send signed petitions. I will post soft copy of the form shortly to this board. Only NH residents (divers and non divers) can sign. Print form get your friends, family to sign the petition and send in. We need a whole lot of signatures by next spring which is when congressment is attempting to go before NH Congress.
