Sandwich Town Beach closed for next month or so

Friend of mine who lives in Sandwich told me about this yesterday -- they are dredging part of the CC Canal and are placing the dredged material on STB to help fight years of beach erosion partially caused by the Canal itself.

Article from CC Times about the project:

I'm gonna have to take a look at this for myself. Sounds like it could be junk science to me, but we'll see.

I'll have to take a ride down there and check it out. I'm tenatively planning a dive there for the 14th. Hopefully, it will have it's desired effect.

I never went down there to check it out, but thanks for the info. We'll be heading for Brant Rock this Friday afternoon for some bug hunting.

    Still closed-- that's weird.

I was planing on diving there over Memorial Day weekend, but conditions were too rough (north wind). We didn't see any postings about the beach being closed when we were at the site.

Man, the beach looks different with all the sand they've added.

Man, I've got to get off my ass and go down there and take a look. I've been going there since a toddler and I'm dying to see the changes.
