Yea, just got back from Maui and still on island time and working today... Didn't even want to come back, wanted to be like my DM on the boat, he said "Bra, can you believe they actually pay me to do this?" No I can't...
I had to work a 12hr shift on christmas eve and an 8hr shift on christmas day.I am fortunate that ill be off by 4:30 pm on new years eve and report back to work new years day in the afternoon.Sometimes it sucks being away from your loved ones during the holidays.
Also i would like everyone to say a prayer for our troops overseas and think of them on these special holidays.I know i will.Happy holidays everyone
luvdiving once bubbled... Ditto to that. I'm locked up on a 12.5 hr shift watching a computer console.
Nothing to do. No alarms. Nothing on cameras. No animals moving. No TV. Work sucks.
On the other hand, it does help pay for life's little addictions (food, shelter, diving).:boom:
I just read your profile and had to laugh.After sept 11 my army reserve unit got activated to serve as extra security to chemical depot in oregon.I had to pull my fair share of shifts in a control room like you were describing.We had one civilian and one military in the room at all times.Before we arrived there was just the one civilian in there.I remember thinking this has to be the worlds most boring job......lol.But like you said it pays for lifes addictions such as diving
