Don't use logic with me. It just confuses me and angers you.
Come Dive with The Kentucky Piranha Patrol....If you call them Blue Gill you haven't been diving in Kentucky!!!
my boss has to send a country ham to her parents every year at Christmas because they say that, at least where they live, no one has ever heard of a country ham. They are in FL

your description of great lakes diving sounds so good, i was about to invite myself out for a visit/dive trip. but then i glanced at jbd's response, and started laughing so hard i fell out of my chair.
when the bruises heal and the broken bones mend, can i come dive with you?
jbd, hush now!

Divemistress,
You can come dive with me anytime! Love to show off the wrecks here in Michigan. The Kentucky group is coming this summer to dive the Mackinac Straits, how about we both join them?
I have swum for many years in chlorinanted water and my hair has never suffered. I've never put conditioner in before swimming and I don't use it afterward either. One secret to not letting chlorine or salt damage your hair is to not let your hair dry - rinse it with fresh water before it dries. This also prevents the green tint that you can get from chlorinated water.
As for sunscreen, I'm fanatical about it. I ski in addition to swimming and diving. So I endure a lot of exposure to the sun. I have found two products which are very sweat/water resistant: SolBar PF Cream (SPF 50) and Neutrogena Healthy Defense Oil-Free (SPF 45). The Neutrogena even smells great. Even though these should protect my skin for long periods of time, I don't take any chances and reapply them every couple of hours. The Neutrogena sunscreen also comes in a spray, so I can easily apply it to my back and shoulders myself. The spray is also great for protecting my scalp from burning. After 6 weeks in Australia, I returned without any additional color.
It all in your families Genes and your attitude. If your one of those persons who do not take care of them selves physically your going to age quicker. If you come from a family which members tend to burn out quickly in life your dumed. My pool diving partner is 89 years old and a fellow Canadian Navy officer his father lived until he was 99 his mother 96 and they showed no sighns of physical distress until than. I figure his family has strong genes that kept them youthfull in the mind and body until there dieing day.
