This MUST STOP! Live stray dogs are being used as shark bait

Hello everyone, I know this might not be the perfect place to post this but I would like it to receive maximum views.

Stray dogs are being captured and skewered alive and used as shark bait. The video is horrible and should make you sick to your stomach and hopefully make you as MAD as I am about this. Please spread the word.

Clint, I saw this well over a year ago and it is a hoax! Made from clips and just not true! Just like Cat juggling! I think you can google it and find out!

Sorry, I can't even look at this. If I saw this, in person, and had a gun, I would be jailed for murder....... with a smile on my face.....

Oh Please read the comments before watching the video. This video seems to be a scam. There is NO video actually showing dogs being used for shark bait. This practice is not sanctioned by any goverment.

I would be much happier not seeing that video. I'm a dog lover. While the link to feeding sharks is vague I signed the petition anyway.

    snopes.com: Dogs as Shark Bait

    when in doubt, use SNOPES!

"Based on a Runion newspaper which acknowledged the practice and reported the recent prosecution of a deliveryman (and amateur fisherman) on that island over animal cruelty charges associated with the described activity, we'd have to say there is some truth to the shark-fishing claim, although the practice does not appear to be as widespread or horrific (or tolerated) as implied by some news stories. Rather than describing hordes of shark fisherman impaling live dogs on hooks and dragging them behind boats as shark bait, the article notes that employing dogs in shark-fishing is largely the province of a small group of amateur fisherman rather than large numbers of professionals, that the dogs used are generally dead animals picked up from roadsides or culled from the island's large population of unwanted strays (estimated at 150,000), and that the no-longer-alive animals are attached to unattended buoyed "shark trap" platforms rather than dragged alive behind boats."

I'm going to play devils advocate here:

We value the dog as a companion to man. I love my pup, and would do anything to protect him. I think it's safe to say that the dog is almost a sacred animal in our society. That video disturbed me, but it also just made me think of every other bleeding heart liberal propaganda that tries to play on my emotions. We shouldn't be making decisions that impact others by how we feel emotionally.

Look at what we do with cows. Cows are sacred in some cultures, and I imagine they wouldn't appreciate how we treat them and consume them. I don't want anyone to say that how we butcher cows is in any way "humane." It's efficient. In some countries dogs are consumed like any meat, cause, it's meat to them, not mans best friend. I'm protecting mine, and the ones I can help. I choose not to associate myself with people who abuse dogs and believe in our culture it's wrong to do so. But, that's our culture. Not theirs.

And, frankly, at least these dogs aren't transferring disease, attacking other dogs, ect ect as is a problem with overpopulation and excessive strays. In a jonathan swift(i think that's his name) point of view, these dogs aren't going to waste.

You can try to solve a problem based on your emotions, but you'll end up with 2 problems to our survival and well-being. I guess you can tell I'm not a socialist.....

Just playing devils advocate. Something to think about.
