Exclamation The Great T-SHIRT Thread !!

    Scuba Board memorabilia, eh?

Many of you have been mentioning stuff like "ScubaBoard T-Shirts", "NDI Chapter T-Shirts", etc, etc...

Well, this is actually something we have been trying to get going for quite some time now. We currently have a professional graphic artist who is willing to produce just about anything we want.

And when I say a "Professional Graphic Artist" I am not talking about the kind of professional mentioned in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" when they turn the Vintage Ferrari over to the parking attendants!

This guy is not just any old graphic guy... He ...

    • Worked for Disney as a Lead Cartooning Illustrator (12+ years)
    • Currently has 2 comic strips in syndication nationwide.
    • Has Aeronautical Illustrations that have been hanging in the Smithsonian Institute for 20+ years
    • Does hand drawn, air brushed caricatures in his sleep
    • He leaps tall buildings in a single bound ... ohh ,ummm ... anyway ...

To say that "the guy is good" is a complete and total understatement.

However, in order to do this, I need your help. I need explicit, detailed descriptions of ideas you would like to see on shirts, hats, patches, decals, tattooed on your wife's back, etc. I have already given him a couple ideas, but I need more material to work with. Lots more. We would eventually like to have a large variety of designs for people to choose from.

So here's the deal... Post your ideas here in this thread. Be as detailed in your description as you possibly can be. With a little bit of description, he can work wonders, so the more details you can give, the more likely you are to get what you really want. I will then get your ideas to our wizard and he can start working magic.

Some examples might be parodies on things happening in the diving industry, playing on peculiarities of diving in a given region, marine life themes, Spearfishing Humor, DIR Humor, etc ...

While talking on the phone with him I ran some ideas by him with very little and vague descriptions, sort of just semi-ideas and by the time our conversation was over, he had emailed me some "Rough Sketches" that resembled THIS LINK HERE.

(please understand, to respect copyright, this is a purposefully degraded, watermarked, thumbnail sized representation of the real artwork he sent me)

But basically you should get the idea. If he can do this with general ramblings then he can do some pretty cool stuff with descriptions that have some thought put into them.

So start posting what you want, would like to see, think would be cool, etc., etc ...

    KN

This would need work, but possibly something along the lines of a black t-shirt with a series of ridiculous specialty patches on the back. X them out and at the bottom print "Patches? We doan need no steenkin' patches!"

Or maybe this would offend too many UW Multilevel Boat Basket Weaving specialists?

This is perfect, the only difference is give examples of what the "ridiculous specialty patches" would be and this is a winner ...

It's barebones, derivative, and probably isn't going anywhere, but I have a mental image that might be worthwhile.

Remember the scene from The Empire Strikes Back where they fly out of a tunnel in a giant asteroid, which turns out to be the throat of a monstrous worm?

Combine that image in profile embedded in the sea floor with that of an unsuspecting diver in hard hat dress descending toward the 'cavern'.

The platform the diver rests on is in the shape of a giant fish hook.

The caption has the diver nervously querying the surface support team: "Uhhh, so what's the mission again, Chief?"
