I had a mammogram two weeks ago that showed up some clusters of microcalcifications, we did a cone compression view of last Thursday. Monday, my doctor referred me to a specialist. A surgeon that specializes in breast cancer. He is doing a biopsy on me this morning. My risk factors for cancer are way below average, and he tells me that 88% of these biopsy cases are benign. However, I am still a bit nervous.

Because of the biopsy I have cancelled my dive trip plans for July 4th, as he has told me to withhold any exercise of upper body for 10 days post biopsy.

My primary doctor is also a diver, while she was discussing this need to see a surgeon with me. I began crying and told her that this meant I would have to sell my dive gear. She was very serious, and said "We never sell our dive gear, until we are laid out cold at the funeral home" "Look at me, I have had a ruptured bowel, with 1 ft removed, I have had a back injury which had to have surgical repair and I made a couple of dives in Bonaire two weeks ago." She does not dive often but when others, her husband and friends help her she does get to dive some.

Like I said in the beginning, please say a prayer for me today. I leave for the hospital in another hour.

Good luck.

Good luck, Seaangel.

My family's thoughts are with you.

Hey seaangel,

I had the same experience a few years ago. Keep a positive outlook and hopefully like mine everything will be OK.
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

thoughts and prayers are with you.

if you need anything, just let us know, ok?

:alright:

Ooh, scary! Sorry you have to deal with this.
I'll be waiting to hear all about how easy and painless the biopsy was. :)
Oh, and of course it will be negative. I know several women who have gone through the same thing, my sister included, and all came out of it unscathed and without a malignancy among them. You will too. :mean:

Good luck. Good thoughts coming your way from California.
