Does every woman go through this before a trip!!!!!!

OK, getting ready for a major week of diving. In the last few days, I have had my hair cut and colored, done the major shave and nair thing, painted my toenails. Then there is the major clothes decision. This is above the getting gear together. Do you gals do this as well??????!!!!!!!

    I agree with Cathie :)

I do all that you listed expect the nail thing - for me the polish seems to flake off about half way through the trip. Clothes wise I'm usually on a live aboard or real casual land based trip so it is shorts and tees and a polo for dressing up (just in case).

Where are you getting ready to go? Have a great time.

    Yep!

That sounds like my routine except for the hair. I like to get into the full sun routine and the effects of it and the salt water on my hair. I always have a hair salon appointment scheduled for a few days after the trip to get back to reality. (lol - like a dye job is reality!?)

It's tough balancing the cassual but looks good & is conducive to the diving and doesn't take up much space. One or two sundressed on top of all the bathing suits can usually do it.

I'm with Sealkie on this one.......travel as light as possible. Every trip I make I cut my list down more for the next go round.

T-shirts, one light polartec, folding windbreaker, 1 pair jeans, shorts, sandals while there, sneaks while airporting, undies, shampoo, toothbrush & paste. Add the gear and camera stuff and that's it.
    I got a Nikon camera
I love to take it for a dive
So mama don't take my Ektachrome away

    Sometimes...Most of the time...

Usually before an extended trip or one where I may be going out at night etc. I will go all out the week, even to the day before leaving. For those times that it is needed I will get a fresh hair cut, and if the highlighting in the hair needs touch up get it done too. I usually keep my toenails polished and will carry my own polish with me for touch ups. Fingernails don't hold up as well and I tend to break them or mess them up along the way. Shaving yes, waxing of eyebrows depends on the type of trip or with whom I am traveling.

I will get really into it if going on a week cruise with my husband, primping and pampering myself. On these trips I usually only get in one or two dives anyway.

Clothes again depends if it is a liveaboard I have a standard packing system, a weekend dive trip same I have a standard. A
week long trip to a resort or cruise that is a whole other game plan.

Good luck and relax, have fun where ever you go.

Depends upon where I am going. I am leading a trip to Aruba in late February and due to its nightlife possibilities and the number of people i will be in contact with outside of the diving arena I will go all out.

Where I usually shave I will be having a Brazilian Bikini wax this time due to a rather adventurous new thong that I will be wearing to the beach (not diving).

The main thing I pack is dive gear. Clothing I buy there. After all you usually buy it anywhay and this way I simply don't have to drag stuff down that I won't need.

    Hope this helps.

    Major trips? With strangers?!

    Toes, why not?

Paula, saltwater does give great free highlights, but on the dye job comments, just wait and see....

Julie, I am thankful that the age precludes me from thongs... I would probably have worn one, and there would be those pesky photos now.

    Nope

I just grab my gear, the only thing I ensure I've got is face moisturiser, my P20, and Honey and Oatmeal hair conditioner. THATS IT. I don't care what I look like (and neither do the fish!!)
