I discovered an easy way to eliminate some of the garbage popups you get on youtube videos. You know, the little grey boxes where the poster tries to get you to click on some other video or a link to a website where they sell you some product or service. You normally have to find the tiny X in the corner and hope you click the right spot or just ignore the text over the top of your video. It turns out, you can turn these off!!

Here's how.

1. Point your browser to youtube and log into the site. You must login for this to work. If you have an android phone, you already have a youtube login.
2. Click the blue thing on the top right of your screen.
3. Click the "settings" thing.
4. Click the "Playback" menu item.
5. Uncheck the checkbox for "Show annotations, channel promotions and interactive cards on videos."
6. Click the save button. You might have to resize your browser window or scroll down if you don't see the save button on the screen.

That's it! I made some screenshots to help you find the right buttons.

Less Spam! Yay!

You can eliminate the ads including pre-video commercials by installing an addon called "Adblock Plus". It's available free from https://adblockplus.org/
