I've been invited by NASA to attend the test firing of the new Space Launch System's SRB at the Orbital ATK facility in Utah March 11th. I'm pretty excited about the new life I've been seeing in space flight development. I wrote an initial blog on my author's site about it:

I’m going to the test firing of the world’s most powerful solid rocket booster – what? | john h hanzl (author)

And will be live tweeting the experience @JohnHanzl

Is anyone else as excited about the recent renewed interest in space exploration?

The two most dangerous jobs: Combine #2 Astronaut and #1 Underwater Welder, and you get this most dangerous job position offered by SpaceX a few months ago:

Spacex Launch Vehicle/Booster Rocket and Un-Manned/Manned Capsule Recovery:

Experience working with hypergolic propellants
Prior experience scuba diving or working offshore

A hypergolic chemical rocket propellant is one where the propellants spontaneously ignite when they come into contact with each other. . .
