Hey everyone, I'm ready to purchase a new video camera. We have a baby coming and I need to be prepared. My budget is around $500 and I would like to edit some home videos on my PC. I would also like to use the camera underwater in the future. From my own research, it seems Panasonic is a great buy when compairing to Sony.
Can anyone chime in and point me in the right direction?

I appreciate any thoughts or comments on this.

A Sony will give you more choices when you decide to buy an underwater housing.

For cameras I like either Sony or Ikegami. The Phillips/BTS are not worth your time. These make NICE pictures!! Sony link. Yes, a little pricey BUT how much are videos of your kid worth????

OKOK, not much help for the home video person, sorry. Just decompressing after 12 1/2 hrs of work.
