    Who here is a pilot?

seems that diving attracts pilots in inordinate numbers.

i am a private, VFR only, good weather flier. love to do it; wish
i still were flying every weekend like i used to.

I'm a private pilot. Donna, is an ATP, CFII, with a Multi. You need more categories if you want a serious poll.

    ARghhh matey

I was a hang glider pirate, er pilot. I flew a red and black glider and one of my friends said that it looked like a pirate glider. So I bought a new custom harness and had a pirate flag sewn into the parachute cover.

I flew light planes for a while but was not old enough to get a license, only about 200 hours in something like 21 different AC.

I still fly radio control sailplanes.

H2, you are right again. I believe it attracts pilots because of their similarities. For example: precision, navagation, and the reading of gauges, as you must know are second nature to pilots and are life saving tools to divers alike. It seems to attract people who are perfectionists and deal routinely with analytical and technical situations. My hubby/buddy is also a pilot. (Ohh..did I mention, being anal is a prerequisite.

I know many people in the legal and medical profession who are divers, it seems to attract them too...

My wife (dive buddy) and I both fly for fun

We both fly gliders and own a PW5. Janaki also flies taildraggers (Citabria).

We are struggling to find time to do enough flying to feel safe. It is MUCH less forgiving of long breaks...

I'm a private pilot but I don't fly anymore. I don't have time to fly enough so I made the decision to step away until I do.

I have my private and a bit over 200 hrs. If anyone comes up for the Reno/Stead Air Races get in touch with me if you're interested in doing a Tahoe dive.

Got licensed years ago, but have let it lapse - not enough time/money and too many competing interests - oh well...
