    I'm a Fish!

    Non-Scuba Book, but close!

I just finished a great book. Swimming to Antarctica by Lynne Cox. This lady swims in a swimsuit with a little swim cap & googles in 32 degree water. And I was ready to cry in 42 degree water wearing a 7mm suit.

Anyway, it was a good book. Lynne set world records for swimming the English Channel. She swam the Bering Strait, around Cape Horn, across Glacier Bay Alaska and lots more. The big finale was the swim to Antarctica in 32 degree water, a little over a mile.

Not scuba related, but a good read.

There was a TV special on Discovery (I think) about her swim. She swam a mile in that water w/o any protection. Pretty crazy! I was cool to see though, they had a boat following along telling her when to avoid floating chunks of ice!
