Good Morning-

Ok all you Thurs weigher (including me who hasn't gotten on the scales lately) time to check in.

Can't wait to see how you have done.

Becky

I have not checked in with you in awhile, things have been sort of out of whack here with me. First, I was in Roatan all of last week, but the week before things got really crazy.

I had an appointment with my surgeon that has been following me since last year when I had a an abnormal mammogram and had to have a biopsy. Well, all is normal and good on that aspect. But, I have had and been treated for in the past for a thyroid goiter, which I have now asked him to follow me for. Most likely, I will be having surgery to remove it. For now though it has to be worked up with all the labwork, ultrasounds and scans. We did those this week. Meanwhile my Dad announced that he has a suspicious spot on his lung that needs a biopsy. I went with him to the Pulmonology specialist, who has told him that from the look of the x-ray it is 95% cancer. He used to smoke, quit 10 yrs ago, but did smoke for 60yrs. So, this is not a big surprise to me. Anyway, I went on to Roatan last week and we are busy this week starting all this medical stuff.

I did weigh in yesterday, and no big surprise here I gained 6 lbs on my dive vacation. I threw all cautions to the wind, I ate and drank everything I wanted and then some. I guess I am still a bit off this week too, due to all this other going on in my life. Seems like a lot and I can't get a grip on my eating and exercise yet. I am still aware of this as a problem so maybe I can get back in control.

5.6 pounds up. Bad week foodwise. In-laws were with us all weekend and the annual mug-club party at our local microbrewery was light night. I'll be back in standard form next week.

Cindy, when my grandfather passed away a few weeks ago, it was pretty tough to think about trying to eat well and exercise. I had to force myself to care about that more than all of the other stuff that was clamoring for my attention. I figured that if I only took care of myself when it was easy to do it, in the long run, I wouldn't be doing myself any favors. You need to make sure to take good care of yourself now so that you can be there for your loved ones when they need you. Exercise has been good for me to keep my spirits up when they would otherwise not be. Take care of yourself.

I'm 2.5 pounds down from the day I joined the fitness challenge.

Cindy, I'm sorry to hear about your father. I'll be hoping and praying for you that it turns out not to be cancer. (Keep your hopes up... It does happen. And even if it is... my mother has beat cancer, and has been in remission for three years now.)

Cindy - thinking good thoughts.......
Frank gives good advice. You're no good to your dad if you're not taking care of yourself, even if it seems selfish.

Down 4#, surprised since we went out both Monday and Wednesday nites for dinner, and I wasn't that good..... THIS close to my first short term goal, to get off the 250# slider on the medical scale at the gym and get to the 200# slider .... 1 pound away :)
