Went diving this morning, nice easy beach dive.

Saw a bug that was a ten pounder, easy. Largest I've ever seen in the wild.

It's coming!

13 days to go!
:D

How was opening morning? I have a college friends reunion to go to so I'm missing out this weekend. If I catch your report before I take off, maybe I'll swing by Von's, pick up a few bugs from the tank, and tell your story around the bonfire. Just my luck that Von's sells Maine lobster, not spiny. Think anyone would notice?
Hope it went well.

The one that didn't get away. 12 pounds 10 ounces. Opening night of California lobster season, 27 September 2003, about 12:30 am, Long Beach Break Wall, at 15 feet. Not bad for the first bug of the season. :D

Just curious --- is the meat of a bug that big tough?
