Baltimore area diving?

I am a certified diver with moderate experience (about 30-40 dives) & live in the Atlanta area. I ususally go diving once or twice per year in the gulf area and rent all my equipment when I do go.

I am helping a family member move to the Baltimore area next week to take a job she got up there. I hope to maybe visit on occasion (maybe even this summer) and was wondering if there is any scuba diving worth checking out in this region? Or is it really too far north for diving for a casual diver like myself?

It's breaks down into three classes of diving;
1) Baltimore Aquarium (book this now it sells out)
2) Wreck diving the Atlantic
3) Local lakes and quarrys

Actually, I also meant to ask if there is maybe any lakes or quarries worth checking out that are between Atlanta & Baltimore. Could then also possibly meet this family member (also a certified diver) in the middle for some diving. Anything worth noting?

Lake Rawlings is about 4 hours south of Baltimore - that's about the best "meet halfway" place that I can think of.
45 minutes west of Baltimore, in Westmister, is Hyde's Quarry - not much to look at, no real facilities, but if you just want to get wet, it's close and cheap.
