Hawaii, green sea turtles

Does anyone have any information on the tumors growing on the green sea turtles around Kona? Any programs in the area that need volunteers to monitor, photograph, etc. the condition of these animals as they are encountered while diving? I've worked as a volunteer with programs in Puerto Rico studying hawksbill to determine health, movements, etc... I'll be out there for three months and it seems like a worthy pursuit.

Fascinating. Almost half the turtles I've seen on Oahu have similar growths on their heads/flippers. I didn't know it was a recent, life- and population-threatening thing.

Just happened to be in the right place at the right time to be asked to work in a support role for the project. I believe it was a branch of the University of Perto Rico working on the project.
