Volunteer Asst. Researcher for Belize Stingray study
A PhD researcher investigating trophic dynamics of stingrays requires a volunteer assistant researcher for a continuing study on one of Belize's coral atolls.
This position is suitable for persons with a scientific degree who are interested in becoming more involved in Marine Biology and conservation.
The position will be open to an individual for 1-3 months based on performance, with possibilities of extension. Daily activities may include stingray boat transects, benthic surveys, tagging experiments, manual tracking and computer analysis.
The successful applicant would be expected to cover their costs of getting to Dangriga, Belize, and paying US$40 per day to cover board and lodging at the research station. Costs of getting to and from the atoll, and local transport on the mainland will be provided for.
