Bangka Island (Pulau Bangka) is a beautiful piece of paradise in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, just south of the Philippines. The marine life here is lush and amazing, and is now under threat from mining. If you've dived this area, you understand the implications. If not, do a Google image search for "pulau bangka sulawesi" and you'll get the idea. Now picture this area with an iron mine in the middle of it. Please sign the petition, and spread this message to your friends and other sites of divers' interest.

Note: This petition was started by resorts on and around Bangka, so you can be sure that by signing you are acting in their interest.
