I have all of my gear on a separate policy. My cameras, dive gear, and guns are all on it. It costs about 2% of the value per year and covers every eventuality. I use State Farm and they call it a Personal Articles Policy.

I would definitely have my dive gear on some kind of policy. There are too many chances for it to grow legs while traveling.

I emphasise that this is still an experiment, built but not yet dived with.
Planned for next week, we'll see.
Just for completeness: Six dives with this now, all shallow warm water.
No problems, I like it and intend to continue using it indefinitely.
The bungied backup reg does need to get put on first, and removed last,
    relative to the mask bungie.

I got asked by another Scubaboard member for pictures of my mask leash.

This is the mask and leash laid out. The necklace is roughly 6.5 inches in diameter, the tether is 9.5 inches from the necklace to the mask strap attach midpoint. That's what works for my body size and shape. The bulges at the ends are the result of my finishing all knots in bungee with heatshrink. Not strictly required.
