Geo 2.0 Free Diving and Logging

I'm doing a lot more snorkeling/free diving these days than diving. I tried free diving mode yesterday for the first time. We went out again today and my computer defaulted back to normal dive mode. Is there a way to make free dive mode the default or to have the Geo stay in the last mode you set it to?

Also if I buy the sync cable does it download free dives? I much more interested in having my free dive log on my computer so I can monitor my progress than I am my scuba dives.
